Privacy policy

Last updated: 7 August 2026

In short: Kwispel has no accounts and no servers of its own. Everything you enter about your pet stays on your iPhone and β€” if you use iCloud β€” in your personal iCloud. We cannot see, sell or share that data. Separately, we measure anonymously how the app is used, without ever sending its contents.

Who we are

Kwispel is published by Netkreatives, based in Belgium. Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected].

What data the app processes

All data you enter into Kwispel is about your pet: name, breed, photos, weight, daily check-ins, health logs (vaccinations, medication, parasite treatments, symptoms), planner tasks, walks and notes. This data is stored exclusively:

  • On your device β€” in the app's local database.
  • In your iCloud β€” Kwispel uses Apple CloudKit to sync your data between your own devices. That storage falls under your Apple account and Apple's privacy policy; we have no access to it.

Kwispel does not send this pet data to servers belonging to Netkreatives or to third parties. There are no advertisements and no tracking. We do measure anonymously how the app is used β€” see Usage statistics below.

Usage statistics

So we can see whether the app is actually being used and where people get stuck, Kwispel collects anonymous usage statistics through Google's Firebase Analytics. This concerns fixed event names only: for example that a screen was opened, that a care moment was logged, or that the subscription screen was shown.

What is never sent: pet names, notes, free text, photos, weights or any health data whatsoever. Those stay on your device and in your iCloud.

Google receives an app installation ID derived from Apple's Identifier for Vendors (IDFV). No advertising identifier (IDFA) is used, we link nothing to an account or to your name, and no tracking takes place across other apps or websites. Google acts as a processor here.

Would you prefer we did not collect these statistics for your installation? Send a message to [email protected].

Sharing with your pack (household sharing)

If you choose to share a pack, Kwispel uses Apple's CloudKit sharing. The invitation and the shared data travel through Apple's infrastructure between the participants' iCloud accounts. Only people you invite can see the shared pet data. You can withdraw access at any time in the app.

We never see who you invite or what is in a shared pack.

Subscriptions

Kwispel Premium is sold through Apple's App Store. Payment, renewal and cancellation are handled by Apple; we receive no payment details. To know whether your subscription is active, the app checks purchase status through RevenueCat, which acts as a processor and receives an anonymous app user ID β€” not your name or email address.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you on our own servers, there is in practice nothing for us to hand over or correct. You control the pet data yourself: delete pets or individual logs in the app, and remove the Kwispel data from iCloud through Settings. For questions about the anonymous usage statistics, or to exercise your rights under the GDPR, email [email protected].

Children

Kwispel is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
