Best dog health tracker apps in 2026: six apps side by side

The best dog health tracker depends on what you want to record and who records it with you. Kwispel suits an all-iPhone household that wants a daily check-in and a report for the vet. DogLog, DogNote and Pup to Date also run on Android, and DogCat covers cats too. Here is what each app does, according to its makers.

This page is written by the team that makes Kwispel. We did not test the other apps ourselves: we compare what their makers state on their own website and App Store page, as checked on 25 September 2026. Anything they do not mention is marked “not listed”.

How did we compare them?

We picked apps available in the US and UK App Store that are built to record a dog’s care. For each one we looked at ten points: the kind of log, medication reminders, vaccinations, weight, walks with GPS, sharing with other people, a report or export for the vet, community or vet chat, platforms, and whether an account is needed.

The six apps side by side

Based on each app’s own website and US App Store page, checked on 25 September 2026. “Not listed” means the maker does not mention it, not that it is definitely missing.

Where are the other apps stronger?

  • DogLogIt has an Android app, and its Pack is designed for sitters and walkers to log activities and photos, with notifications for everyone. It also has a statistics page.
  • DogNoteYou can log from the Apple Watch, Siri and widgets, iPhone and Android users share one family, and data exports to PDF or JSON.
  • DogCatDogs, cats and, in the listing’s words, “more than 21 pet species” in one app, an Android version, and tools for breeders, foster carers and shelters.
  • 11petsVital signs alongside weight, and a separate business web app for vets, groomers, shelters, trainers and sitters.
  • Pup to DateBuilt around a puppy’s routine, with smart reminders, an Apple Watch app, a Live Activity and an Android app.
  • KwispelA daily check-in on a fixed scale, walks with a route through Apple Health, and a PDF made for the vet, with no Kwispel account. None of the other five makers lists a GPS route.

Which app should you choose?

  • KwispelIf everyone at home uses an iPhone and you want a daily check-in, medication reminders and a PDF for the vet.
  • DogLogIf someone uses Android, or if a dog walker or sitter needs to log alongside you.
  • DogNoteIf you want to log from an Apple Watch or your family mixes iPhone and Android.
  • DogCatIf you also keep a record for a cat or another animal.
  • 11petsIf you mainly want to store documents and appointments, and your practice uses 11pets itself.
  • Pup to DateIf you are house-training a puppy and want reminders built around its schedule.

What this comparison is not

  • It is not a test: we compare what the makers say, not how well it works.
  • Apps change. We will check this page again before 25 December 2026; if you spot something out of date sooner, email us.
