Logging symptoms, poop and pee

Kwispel lets you log a symptom by choosing it from 26 symptoms in seven groups, such as skin, ears or gastrointestinal, and giving it a severity: low, medium or high. For poop and pee you record details like consistency, colour and contents. Kwispel stores these facts with the date and time and does not interpret them.

What can you record?

LogWhat you enter
Symptoms26 symptoms in the groups Abdomen, Ears, Eyes, Gastrointestinal, Skin, Respiratory and Mobility, with a severity of Low, Medium or High
BehaviourOne or more labels from a list of 18, without a severity
PoopConsistency on an eight-step scale from very hard to watery, colour, coatings such as blood or mucus, and contents such as grass or worms
PeeColour, volume (small, normal or large) and effort (normal or straining)

What is a condition in Kwispel?

When something goes on for a while, you create a condition with a name, a type (chronic, temporary or allergy) and a status (active, monitoring or resolved). You link logs to it and keep a timeline of what changed.

From a condition you can share a separate vet report that covers only that condition. A condition of the type allergy also appears under Allergies in the regular report.

How does this appear in the vet report?

The report counts how often each symptom was logged in the period, and how many times poop or pee was noted as not normal. It sticks to the facts: what, when and how often.

What Kwispel does not do

  • It does not diagnose and does not say what a symptom, colour or consistency means.
  • It does not tell you when to see a vet.
  • You cannot attach a photo to a symptom or a poop log.
