Keeping track of what your dog costs

Every expense for your dog goes into Kwispel through Log expense: an amount, a date, one of ten categories, and if you like the shop and a photo of the receipt. Kwispel tries to read the shop, amount and date from that photo. For each dog you see what you spent this month, this year and in total.

Written by the Kwispel team. We make Kwispel. Checked against Kwispel 1.5.6 on 25 September 2026. Spotted a mistake? Email [email protected] and we will fix it.

Which categories are there?

  • Vet
  • Grooming
  • Food
  • Toys

How does the receipt work?

Scan the receipt with the camera or pick a photo. Kwispel reads the text on your iPhone and fills in the empty fields for vendor or shop, amount and date, leaving anything you already typed alone. Always check the result, because not every receipt can be read.

You choose the currency for each expense, including the euro, the pound, the US, Canadian and Australian dollars and the Swiss franc. The photo stays attached to the expense.

What Kwispel does not do

  • This version cannot track insurance claims or their status.
  • There is no budget and no export of expenses to a spreadsheet.
  • Expenses are not part of the vet report.
