Recording walks with your dog
Tap Start dog walk in Kwispel and a timer starts, your route is drawn on a map, and distance, steps and pace update as you go. When you get home you save the walk to your dog’s log and, if you like, to Apple Health as a workout. Walks already in Apple Health can be brought in as well.

How do you log a walk?
Start dog walk
Under Log care. You can pause the timer.
On the way
Route on the map, distance, steps and pace.
Save
Add a note, and with Add to Apple Health it is also stored as a workout with its route.
Look back
In the calendar, and as a count on the Health tab.
How does Apple Health fit in?
It works both ways. Turn on Add to Apple Health and Kwispel saves the walk there as a workout, route included. Apple Health walks does the reverse: it brings walking and hiking workouts that are already in Apple Health into your dog’s log, with their routes.
iOS asks for location access to draw the map. The Siri shortcut “Log a walk in Kwispel” works in English, logs a walk without a duration and always picks the first dog.
What Kwispel does not do
- There is no chart of walks or activity; you see walks per day and a count per week or month.
- Walks are not included in the vet report.
- There is no Apple Watch app.
